Mr Dirk Drent

Dirk enjoys the diversity of male and female urology. This includes laparoscopic and general open urological procedures. Minor procedures such as vasectomy, circumcision and prostate biopsies are done in the rooms.

Dirk was the first surgeon in New Zealand to perform laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy and sacrohysteropexy (Pelvic reconstructive surgery) on women with pelvic organ prolapse in 2001.

• Painful bladder syndrome (interstitial cystitis)
• Recurrent bladder infections.
• Corrective surgery, where possible, for people who are doing intermittent self-catheterisation.
